Barbiel, a fallen angel also known as Barachiel and Baraquiel, was once a prince of the archangels. Barbiel is considered the “lightning of God” and the angel who rules over the months of October and February and over those born on Saturday. He is also the ruler over one of the 28 mansions of the moon, the planet Jupiter, and the zodiac signs of Scorpio and Pisces. Barbiel, along with the angels Uriel and Rubiel, bring success in games of chance.

In Eastern Orthodox tradition, as Barachiel, Barbiel is known as the Archangel of Blessings, a patron of family and married life, and assigned by God to watch over converts, who are called “adopted children of God”. Barachiel is sometimes shown holding a white rose against the chest, or with rose petals scattered down his cloak, which symbolize God’s sweet blessings showering down on people.
